FOTOGALERIE
Všichni lidé, jejichž portréty fotogalerie přináší, žijí v České
republice. Získali zde azyl, popř. dočasnou ochranu. Pocházejí
z nejrůznějších zemí, ale jedno mají společné - příběh nuceného
odchodu ze země, která jim byla domovem, ze země, kde zůstala
řada jejich příbuzných a přítel. |

Spojuje je ale i snaha začít nový život
v zemi, která jim poskytla útočiště.
Jim všem patří naše poděkování za
souhlas s tím, abychom jejich portréty zveřejnili, a zejména
pak obdiv za odvahu, s níž otevřeně hovořili o svých pocitech,
starostech i drobných radostech.

Zvláštní poděkování patří Jeffreymu Youngovi,
který je autorem všech fotografií, Miluši Vobejdové a Karlu
Novotnému, kteří nahrávali rozhovory, jejichž úryvky jsou
součástí fotogalerie.
Fotografie i texty zveřejnila pražská
kancelář Úřadu Vysokého komisaře OSN pro uprchlíky i ve svém
diáři pro rok 2003.

PHOTO GALLERY
This photo gallery contains images
and stories of people who have been granted asylum or temporary
protection in the Czech Republic. They come from various countries
but they have one thing in common - the story of flight from
their home country where they left many of their close friends
and family behind. |

At the same time, they all share a desire
to restart their lives in the safety of a new country.
We would like to thank all of the people for contributing their
photos and stories to our collection. We admire the courage
with which they openly discussed their feelings, troubles, as
well as everyday joys. |

We would also like to thank photographer,
Jeffrey Young, along with Miluse Vobejdova and Karel Novotny
who conducted the interviews.
The photos and stories were published by the UNHCR Office in
Prague in its 2003 agenda. |
